About
The Artist.
Soulful vocals, playful fiddle, and rhythmic guitar - what sounds like a full band is, in fact, just one artist: Ayla Schofield.
A rising multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Ayla builds her songs live on stage with a loop station, delivering a charismatic one-woman-band performance that W21 Music hailed as "certainly a tour de force". Often dubbed the KT Tunstall of country music, she blends infectious energy with heartfelt, raw storytelling - and has quickly established herself as a standout act on both sides of the Atlantic.
Growing up in a German small town with no music scene around her, Ayla built her career from nothing but instinct and stubbornness. As a teenager and through the early COVID years, she busked five to six days a week - whatever the German weather would throw at her - saving up for her touring equipment and vehicle: a tiny, 20-year-old car she'd later customize to look like a Greyhound bus, an homage to the American icon of the open road.
Her "little Greyhound," now a signature part of her artist identity, would carry her 36,000 miles in 2025 alone, playing 75 shows across the UK and Europe - including her 45-date UK tour, with appearances at Buckle & Boots Festival, Nashville Sounds In The Round at Birmingham Symphony Hall, and support for Morgan Wallen Tribute UK. By now Ayla has performed across eight countries, all while being her own band, manager, and booking agent - no safety net.
In 2024, Ayla joined viral U.S. star Oliver Anthony on his European tour as a fiddle player. Their duets amassed over 1.3 million YouTube views in the first week.
After wrapping her 2025 tour, Ayla relocated to Nashville, taking the next big step in her career and currently working on her debut album - a genre-blending record living in the sonic world of the late 90s and early 2000s, weaving together country, folk, pop, and R&B. Set for release in early 2027, with an extensive UK and Europe tour to follow.
